Restoration of Capacity

When a petition for restoration of capacity is filed and granted, the following case actions must be recorded on the corresponding case (in sequence):

• Guardian Voluntarily Removed (Termination Reason: Restoration of Capacity)

• Order - Granting Restoration of Rights or Order Granting Partial Restoration of Capacity

The Guardian Voluntarily Removed case action ensures the appropriate final reports are scheduled for the guardian(s). The Order - Granting Restoration of Rights case action changes the case state to Closed and ensures the case is counted correctly on statistical reports. The Order Granting Partial Restoration of Capacity case action, conversely, keeps the case in an Open state since the guardianship is continuing through the Person or Estate domain.
